RSUP stands for run support in baseball. Runs a starter’s own team scored for him while he was in the game.
How RSUP is calculated
Team runs scored during the pitcher’s innings, totalled over the season.
It is the reason win-loss records say so little: two pitchers with the same ERA can finish 18-4 and 9-13 on nothing but this.
What counts as a good RSUP?
Half of the 186 qualified MLB players in 2026 were at or below 103.5. Clearing 146 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
