BalksBK

BK stands for balks in baseball. An illegal motion by the pitcher with runners on base — such as starting his delivery and stopping — for which every runner moves up one base.

How BK is calculated

Counted. Lower is better.

The rule exists to stop a pitcher from deceiving runners. With no one on base, the same motion is simply a ball.

What counts as a good BK?

Half of the 82 qualified MLB players in 2026 were at or below 1. The tenth with the most were above 2, which is where the number stops being a good sign.
