How BLSV is calculated

Counted, the moment the lead is gone, whatever happens after.

A pitcher can blow the save and still be credited with the win, if his team takes the lead back before he leaves. The busiest closers top this list as well as the saves list — nobody else gets the chances. Nobody blew more than 10 in 2025.

What counts as a good BLSV?

Half of the 246 qualified MLB players in 2026 were at or below 2. The tenth with the most were above 5, which is where the number stops being a good sign.
