Slugging %SLG
SLG stands for slugging percentage in baseball. Bases earned per at-bat — a measure of power, not of getting on base.
How SLG is calculated
SLG = Total Bases ÷ AB, where TB = 1B + 2×2B + 3×3B + 4×HR
It is not a percentage and its ceiling is 4.000, not 1.000. It also says a double is worth exactly two singles, which is generous to the double.
What counts as a good SLG?
Half of the 240 qualified MLB players in 2026 were at or below .411. Clearing .487 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
