True Shooting %TS%
TS% stands for true shooting percentage in basketball. Points scored per shooting chance, counting a three as worth more than a two and folding in free throws.
How TS% is calculated
TS% = PTS ÷ (2 × (FGA + 0.44 × FTA))
The 0.44 converts free throws into shooting possessions: and-ones and technical free throws use no possession of their own. League average has run near 58% in recent seasons.
What counts as a good TS%?
Half of the 306 qualified NBA players in 2025-26 were at or below 57.9. Clearing 63.7 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
