How 3PTA is calculated
3PTA is a subset of FGA.
Volume is what makes a percentage mean something: 3P% on two attempts a game and on ten attempts a game describe different players entirely.
What counts as a good 3PTA?
Half of the 401 qualified NBA players in 2025-26 were at or below 3.3 per game. Clearing 6.6 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
