Scoring EfficiencySC-EFF

SC-EFF stands for scoring efficiency in basketball. Points a player produces for each scoring attempt he takes, with free throws folded in.

How SC-EFF is calculated

SC-EFF = points ÷ (field goal attempts + 0.44 × free throw attempts)

The 0.44 is the share of free throws that end a possession — and-ones and technicals do not. Multiply this by 50 and you have true shooting percentage.

What counts as a good SC-EFF?

Half of the 424 qualified NBA players in 2025-26 were at or below 1.282. Clearing 1.481 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
