FC stands for fair catches in football. Punts the returner caught after waving his arm overhead: he cannot be hit, and he cannot run with the ball.
How FC is calculated
Counted. The ball is placed where it was caught.
A fair catch is a returner’s choice between a safe spot and a chance at a return; fewer fair catches usually means more return yards and more risk.
What counts as a good FC?
Half of the 59 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 6. Clearing 17.2 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
