FG% stands for field goal percentage in football. The share of a kicker’s field goal attempts that went through the uprights.
How FG% is calculated
FG% = FGM ÷ FGA × 100

Distance decides most of it: NFL kickers make over 90% of tries inside 40 yards and roughly seven in ten from 50 and beyond, so a kicker trusted with long attempts posts a lower percentage for it.
What counts as a good FG%?
Half of the 36 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 86.1. Clearing 93.0 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
