AST stands for assisted tackles in football. Tackles the player made together with one or more team-mates.
How AST is calculated
Counted. Total tackles: TOT = SOLO + AST.
Tackle credit is decided by each team’s own stat crew, so solo and assisted splits vary between stadiums more than most stats.
What counts as a good AST?
Half of the 988 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 11. Clearing 35 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
