Longest PlayLNG

LNG stands for longest play in football. The longest single play of the kind the table counts: longest run on a rushing table, longest catch on a receiving table, longest completion for a passer, longest field goal for a kicker.

How LNG is calculated

The maximum, in yards. On ESPN a “t” after the number marks a play that went for a touchdown.

Unlike yards per carry, it is one play, so a single breakaway can put a backup at the top of the list.

What counts as a good LNG?

Half of the 287 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 15. Clearing 50 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
