Two-Point Conversions2PT

2PT stands for two-point conversions in football. A play run from the two-yard line after a touchdown, worth two points instead of the one-point kick. Any offensive player who scores on it is credited with the conversion.

How 2PT is calculated

Counted. A converted try is 2 points; a failed one is 0, with no second chance.

Conversions succeed about 48% of the time against a 95%-plus extra point, which is why coaches take the two only when the arithmetic of the scoreboard demands it.

What counts as a good 2PT?

Half of the 51 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 1. Clearing 1 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
