Shooting % S%
S% stands for shooting percentage in hockey. The share of a player’s shots on goal that went in. Other sites write it SPCT or SH%.
How S% is calculated
S% = goals ÷ shots on goal × 100
A forward shooting far above his usual rate is usually due to fall back: the league-wide figure has sat near 10% for decades.
What counts as a good S%?
Half of the 654 qualified NHL players in 2025-26 were at or below 10.1. Clearing 17.0 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
