NHL injury report
91 NHL players are on a club injury report: 71 out, 11 injured reserve, 7 day-to-day. The status is the club's own word, filed with the league, and the date is when it expects him back.
What the statuses mean
- Out
- Ruled out of the next game. The club has already decided; nothing in the warm-up changes it.
- Suspension
- Not an injury at all: the player is barred by the league or the club, and appears on the same report because he is unavailable.
- Day-To-Day
- Hurt enough to be reported, not hurt enough for a timetable. The club will decide each day on how the player wakes up.
- Injured Reserve
- A roster list for a player too hurt to play for a stretch. Moving him there opens his place on the active roster.
