How Y/R is calculated

Y/R = receiving yards ÷ REC

Alec Pierce, 2025: 1,003 ÷ 47 = 21.3

It rewards deep threats and ignores the balls a receiver did not catch; yards per target (receiving yards ÷ TGTS) is the fairer way to compare a deep receiver with a possession one.

What counts as a good Y/R?

Half of the 153 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 11.0. Clearing 14.6 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
