TGTS stands for targets in football. Passes thrown a player’s way, whether or not he caught them. Also called times targeted. Other sites write it TGT.
How TGTS is calculated
Counted by the official scorer as the intended receiver on each attempt.
Targets measure opportunity, receptions measure opportunity plus hands. A receiver whose targets stay high through a bad stretch is usually the safer bet.
What counts as a good TGTS?
Half of the 203 qualified NFL players in 2025 were at or below 55. Clearing 113.8 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
