Faceoff % FO%
FO% stands for faceoff percentage in hockey. The share of the faceoffs a player took that he won. Other sites write it FOW%.
How FO% is calculated
FO% = faceoffs won ÷ (faceoffs won + faceoffs lost) × 100
The spread is narrow: 50% is even, 55% is among the league’s best, and a centre below 45% is usually kept off the defensive-zone draws.
What counts as a good FO%?
Half of the 133 qualified NHL players in 2025-26 were at or below 51.2. Clearing 57.7 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
