REB stands for rebounds in basketball. Possessions won by grabbing the ball after a missed shot, at either end of the floor. Also called boards. Other sites write it TRB.

Roughly three quarters of all rebounds are defensive: a miss usually lands on the defense’s side of the rim.

What counts as a good REB?

Half of the 424 qualified NBA players in 2025-26 were at or below 3.5 per game. Clearing 7.0 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
