Games PlayedGP
GP stands for games played in basketball. How many games a player actually appeared in, out of the 82 on the schedule.
How GP is calculated
Counted. One second on the floor counts as an appearance.
Since 2023-24 a player must reach 65 games to be eligible for MVP, All-NBA or any other end-of-season award, which is why the 65-game line now shapes rest schedules.
What counts as a good GP?
Half of the 515 qualified NBA players in 2025-26 were at or below 55. Clearing 76.6 put a season in the top tenth of the league.
